YIELD POINT

In physics there is this thing called the point of elasticity, or similarly, the yield point. If you stretch something, it will stretch back to its original form. But if you stretch it beyond the point of elasticity it remains distorted. It's all a process and August has been like running a marathon: fun, exhilarating, exhausting, challenging... but I finally feel like I have passed the finish line. Flu and sinus infection for 3 weeks, barely any sleep, working 16+ hour days and partying. Not the best combination and so I took a step back. I don't want to keep waking up at 3 a.m. and scroll hours away just because I had too much on my mind.

And  now I take my morning coffee with a book, leaving the phone on the side. I do the same for my morning and afternoon metro rides and every waiting time in between. And for most of the days which I was (or actually still am) forced to spend in bed with antibiotics, I kept it analog too. I read a 500 page book on behavioral psychology & took time to get properly healthy. Because sometimes, you just need to take a moment to yourself.

Do you ever stop to think how many times you pick up the phone just to refresh the feed? Try it. For one day. 2 hours. Only use it when you need to - a phonecall, an important text. It was one of the most liberating out of all the little changes the beginning of September brought.

It's been more than a week since I took a break from Instagram, and apart from a moment of weakness I didn't tempt me. But now, I am happily getting it back again. New content, new style, new inspiration.

Now? Dive into new projects, yoga, boxing and travel. Everything that makes me feel happy and strong.
